Hi, I am Michael Elford, a 36 yr old wedding photographer from Windsor Ontario. I became interested in photography after the birth of my 1st daughter Samantha. That was 10+years ago. I guess I always loved the camera, being in front of it of behind it. Funny how things would turn out. As any proud dad would, I photographed Sam’s every moment. I am sure my friends and family were growing annoyed with my instance that the camera need be around. But then I captured some good shots… some rare moments of my family and friends. An embrace, or a giggle as an old couple showed their fondness for each other. They were great images. Not because of exposure, but because of the moment.

I was asked to shoot a wedding in August of 2003. The images were good. And another wedding came the next year, and then a 2nd that year. And it was this one that put me on the map. There was an image that I captured of Jessica and JP where… it was just magic. And my future customers loved it!! That image is still one of my favorites today. Now with over 75 weddings under my belt, I still love what I do. I still get excited about the people, sharing and capturing their moments. And I still get nervous too. It means that much to me to do a great job for you-the bride and groom.

I am a married father of three. I met my wife, Stacie back in 1997 and were married in 2003. We had Samantha in 2001 (yup do the math). But we weren’t done there. We had Steven in 2005, and Addison in 2008. Now we’re done! We also have a mini dachshund named Toby. He’s a great dog. Overall, I am not a dog person, but, I am thrilled with Toby and the way he’s treated us, and vice-verse.

For fun you would find me drinking a 7-11 double big gulp.. always coke, lots of ice. I love coca-cola. I love my old school rap-you know when they told stories, and didn’t swear! I love the Detroit Lions, and can’t wait till next year when they win the Superbowl hahaha… ok maybe not. But a photographer can dream right?

I love airplanes, and taking pictures of them in the air. Love it. Almost as much as I do capturing weddings… almost.
